The Demographic Accident of 2009


The mapping affects 111 sites analysed in 2008-09.
Related to the demographic change between these two years, 4 categories of change were observed:
Sites where number in 2009 was higher than in 2008 (green dots)
Sites where number in 2009 was the same as in 2008 (blue disks)
Sites where number in 2009 was lower than in 2008 (red disks)
Sites where marmots disappeared in 2009 (black disks)

Results :
32 sites increased their number, with 88 animals more
16 sites had steady number
29 sites reduced their number, with 169 animals less
Marmottes totally disappeared in 29 sites

On the whole, marmot population loosed 93 individuals and its increasing rate falled to -18 %
